“Growing...” This is describing our local disciple-making which stems from the Great Commission.  In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”  As a local church of believers we should be growing in maturity as we reflect the character of Christ and fruit of the Spirit.  Below you will find how we want to intentionally make disciples with adults for the glory of God through Life Groups, Other Small Groups, and Sunday Classes & Seminars.

Life Groups

/files/Pictures for Pages/LifeGroups01.jpgWhat are Life Groups?

Life Groups are the church’s primary small group avenue for discipleship. It is within these small communities that Christians can build personal relationships and make disciples by connecting the transforming power of Jesus Christ with every day life.  From the Gospels and the book of Acts, Jesus’ and the early church were often making disciples in a small group of people intentionally experiencing life together. Jesus’ disciple-making did not revolve around a class where He just told His followers how to live.  Instead, His life and the Word was the content for His disciples.  Our Life Groups are created for this purpose. While you certainly will build relationships with other believers, it will always be centered on the Word of God as we grow as disciples of Christ with one another.  We believe that God is glorified as our Life Groups grow in their identity in Jesus, worship of God, in community with one another, and participate in the mission of making disciples, both locally and globally.

Where do they take place?

/files/Pictures for Pages/smallgroup.jpgComposed of six to twelve people, groups meet in homes typically on the first and third Sunday evening of the month. All groups are led by trained lay-leaders from the congregation who receive continued oversight and support from our pastoral staff. These groups provide sanctuary from the pressures and anxieties of life.  As God made us for community, we need fellow believers to help us apply the gospel to our lives. Our hope is that everyone who attends our church will be involved in a Life Group.

If you are interested in joining a Life Group, please contact the church office or the Welcome Center at church for a listing of groups in your area.

Sunday Classes & Seminars/files/Pictures for Pages/flippingthroughBible.jpg

The Sunday Classes are a supportive avenue for disciple-making to occur at Atlanta Road Alliance Church. They provide a classroom setting learning God’s Word and its implications for life together. They include a wide array of topics, such as: Bible overview, theology, apologetics, marriage, parenting, evangelism, and others.  There are classes on individual books of the Bible too.  You may want to take advantage of these classes to take a non-believer friend to (i.e. Christianity Explained class) or take a young believer to a class (i.e. Jump Start class) and use the material to disciple them.

All are welcome!  Classes and seminars are primarily intended for adults, but high-schoolers are welcome to join in classes appropriate for them.

Classes are offered during the 9:45 - 10:45 am Sunday morning hour.  Seminars will be scheduled on a regular basis.  Please see our Events Calendar to check for upcoming seminars.

1:1 Discipleship

1:1 Discipleship is two people getting together to read the Word together, and be transformed by God's grace.  Please contact the church office if you are interested in meeting with an individual for 1:1 discipleship.
